CAPT day #3

Period 1:
-review electromagnet open-ended CAPT type question
-review yeast experiment/PPT from last year (to review for CAPT)

Periods 2 and 4:
-begin reviewing the Yeast experiment/PPT (from Frosh year to review for the CAPT test) in the sci drive and watch short yeast video on youtube What do Yeast Like to Eat? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4mxqGF9JZHI
-review CAPT type open-ended questions (given last week when I was out)
Period 7:
-finish electromagnet lab and discuss open-ended electromagnet question

-Electricity w/s and CAPT open-ended practice (will post on Mon)

Period 6/7 (LAB):
-same as periods 2 and 4, but watch Bill Nye’s Electricity too:)

Remind all students about Monday's quiz

Period 1:
-Collect Electricity circuits reading and questions
-switch rooms with Theresa and do circuit building
-Write Ohm's Law on the board and discuss with respect to the circuits
-Use lab "Wired for Action" (from the Gen Sci Activity book)

Periods 2, 4, 7:
-go to Physics classroom for circuit building
-discuss Ohm's Law and complete "Wired for Action"
-do Magnetism h/o if time

(note: periods 1 and  7 still need to do Ohm's law word problems)

Period 1:

-Review series and parallel circuits and Electrical Energy reading/questions (from the Electricity h/o)

Period 2, 4:
-review Ohm’s Law and 2 formulas listed above. Do word problems from “A Shocking Solution” (posted yesterday)   
-discuss series and parallel circuits for Physics room lab tomorrow (during regular class time)

Period 7:
-PPT on electrical energy 
-Discuss Electricty WQ and discuss series and parallel circuits for tomorrow’s lab
